Academics

Lakeridge won the "Best in State 2008" award for Utah public elementary, middle, and high schools. Lakeridge also won "Best of State 2009" as well and '10 and '11.[3]

Flex time

Flex Time was a trial program began at Lakeridge in the fall of 2007. It allowed students with passing grades to participate in enrichment activities for 30 minutes during the day, while students with failing grades could work to improve their performance. This gave students with little time at home an opportunity to complete missing work.[4] The failure rate at Lakeridge subsequently declined more than 40%. The program, still in use at Lakeridge, has been implemented at other Utah schools.

Athletics

The Lakeridge athletic program has spawned a few Olympians, including Niklas Arrhenius and his brothers, nationally ranked Swedish competitors in shot put, discus, and hammer throw.[5]
